HIRING: ReStore Donation Pickup Driver

RESTORE DONATION PICK-UP DRIVER

Reports to: ReStore Manager

Work Location: 1400 US 302 Berlin, VT 05641

Compensations: $18-$20/ hour

Position: Full-time and must be available to work Saturday

Schedule: 40 hours per week, weekdays and weekends

Permits and Requirements: Driver’s License

Key Responsibilities:

● Provide support to the ReStore Manager with day to day operations

● Pick up donations with a helper using Habitat for Humanity vehicles.

● Unload and load the truck multiple times during the day with help from store staff or volunteers.

● All donations will be brought back to the store and unloaded, any unsaleable donations will be properly disposed of.

● Truck will be properly secured with a lock at the end of the day and any electronic devices securely stored in the glove box.

● Adhere to Habitat criteria for accepting only saleable items for the store.

● Driver and helper can receive tips however no employees or volunteers can accept gifts, donations from donors for personal use or resale. Furthermore, the purchase of merchandise from a donor is prohibited.

● Assist with ongoing training of driver helpers and volunteers regarding safe work practices.

● Help maintain a clean and safe work environment inside and outside of the ReStore.

● Responsible for daily and weekly truck checks.

● Provide support for special events such as parades, Stuff the Truck and more.

● Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

● Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds.

● Retail experience helpful but not required.

● Effective written and oral communication skills.

● Creative self-starter with the ability to work both independently and with other staff and volunteers.

● Physical ability to complete work in the store/warehouse/outdoors under all weather conditions.

● Able to safely move heavy donations with assistance using moving dollies and other provided tools.

● Substance screening, criminal background check and driving history will be conducted prior to job offer.

● The position may require climbing ladders up to 6 feet high, position requires the ability to grasp, reach, stoop, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs.
